Mercy Global Action at the United Nations and the Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd worked together in their 2016 global campaign to mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence from 25 November to 10 December 2016.
The campaign, #16Days16Stories, focused on the experience of formerly-trafficked women and girls who gave testimony to gender discrimination and marginalization from childhood into adulthood. Their stories, told in their own words, highlighted the many human rights violations and cumulative disadvantages in their life journeys. Through their stories, survivor advocates provided key insights into preventative measures to end human trafficking.
All the stories shared are available on this site - http://www.16days16stories.online/
